Application of 1A33 conformal coating
Protective coatings can be successfully applied to previously cleaned substrates, as well as to substrates assembled with low-residue (non-clean) materials. Users should conduct appropriate tests to confirm the coating's compatibility with their assembly materials, processing conditions, and cleanliness level. Please contact a HumiSeal representative for more information.
Diving
Depending on the complexity, density, and configuration of the assembly components, it may be necessary to reduce the viscosity of HumiSeal 1A33 with HumiSeal 503 Thinner to achieve a uniform film. Once the optimum viscosity has been determined, a controlled immersion and withdrawal rate (typically 5 to 15 cm/min) will ensure uniform coating deposition and a uniform film. During application, solvent evaporation causes an increase in viscosity, which should be adjusted with small amounts of HumiSeal 503 Thinner. The viscosity in the dipping tank should be checked regularly using a simple measuring instrument, such as a Zahn or Ford viscosity cup .
Spray
HumiSeal 1A33 can be sprayed with conventional spray equipment. Spraying should be carried out in a well-ventilated environment to keep vapors and mist away from the operator. The addition of HumiSeal 521 Thinner is necessary to ensure uniform spraying and a pinhole-free film. The amount of thinner and spray pressure depend on the type of spray equipment and operator technique. The recommended ratio of HumiSeal 1A33 to HumiSeal 521 is 1:1 by volume; however, this ratio may need to be adjusted to achieve a uniform coating.
Brushing
HumiSeal 1A33 can be applied by brush with a small amount of HumiSeal 503 Thinner. Film uniformity depends on the density of the components and the operator's technique.
